'I know a bank whereon the wild thyme blows…………'
Well, that worked for Shakespeare, but you may have somewhere in mind that is just made for you. The Marriage Act allows couples to marry “on any day, at any time, and at any place.” (Section 43, the Marriage Act, 1961) Why not a winter wedding in the snow? Or if you’re a surfer or sun worshipper, what about a dawn or sunset wedding on your favourite beach? Australia is blessed with a limitless range of special places, city or country, from the wild granite ridges of the Snowy Mountains high country to endless expanses of spectacular beaches, from elegant reception centres and stylish waterside restaurants to secluded private gardens, harbourside parks, magnificent golf courses, fabulous tropical islands, boats large and small, and even your own back yard……. indoors or outdoors, a wedding venue is limited only by your imagination and your budget. Do remember, if you choose an outdoor venue, to check with the relevant local authority in case permission/fee is required. Whatever your intended venue, book well ahead, and if outdoors, be sure to have a wet-weather plan in place, just in case the drought breaks on your wedding day. And if you’re really stuck for inspiration as to where to hold your ceremony, perhaps I could help you with some suggestions. Somewhere there is a place just right for you. When you settle on it, I have an adventurous spirit and love to travel. I am based in Sydney, but I will happily join you anywhere within Australia to conduct a ceremony that ensures a unique and joyful day that you will remember forever. And PS: I’m not afraid of heights (well, within reason) and I don’t get seasick! To calculate sunset and sunrise times at your prospective venue, you might like to try www.timeanddate.com
